The new version of the Consumer Goods Ordinance has been in force since 1 July 2024. Companies in the packaging industry that manufacture or distribute food contact materials and articles are obliged to implement the requirements of this regulation.

According to Regulation (EC) No. 2023/2006, all companies that manufacture or distribute materials and articles intended to come into contact with food are obliged to implement good manufacturing practice (GMP).
Important: Existing businesses have a transitional period until 31 October 2024 to submit the necessary notifications to the competent authority.
Each permanent establishment must be reported individually and changes must be submitted to the authority within six months.
